As a mountaineer/explorer/runner for over 40 years, I have decided to bite the bullet, contradict everything I’ve ever said about cyclists and attempt an almost 1000-mile cycle between Land’s End and John O’Groats in June 2026 with my great friend Roy Murdoch.
Reasons why I am raising money?
The reason why I’m raising money for an incredible charity called Sepsis Research FEAT, is that back in December 2017 I was admitted to Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire with life threatening Sepsis and Pneumonia. After spending 9 nights in Intensive Care under the watchful eye of our wonderful National Health Service, not only had the team saved my life but had put me back on the road to recovery.
This event is so hard to describe, as how do you thank a team for saving your life?
